Lugano team and organisation
Your SILC Lugano Summer Academy team
Care, guidance and organisation from arrival to departure
SILC manages the full summer academy on Franklin University Switzerland’s campus, coordinating academic arrangements, leadership learning, project work, professional visits and outdoor adventures. We also oversee student care, residential life, meals and transport, working closely with Franklin’s campus teams and the programme’s educators.
Our dedicated team helps students settle in, feel included and grow in confidence and independence. SILC is the main point of contact for families and remains responsible for the student experience throughout the programme.
Experienced trainers, personal support
SILC trainers work with young people through school programmes and summer camps throughout the year. They help students build leadership, teamwork and confidence by connecting practical challenges with reflection and adapting their guidance to individual needs.
Small camp groups give our trainers time to understand each student’s interests and goals, encourage their participation and support their progress.
Qualified activity instructors
Specialist instructors lead activities such as rock climbing and water-based adventures, providing technical instruction.
SILC trainers stay with the group to support students, help them practise leadership skills and reflect on how the experience relates to their personal goals.
Health and wellbeing
SILC trainers hold first aid certification and child safeguarding qualifications. Students can turn to them whenever they feel unwell or need help. Our team provides first aid and arranges further medical assistance when needed.
With encouragement, clear expectations and everyday support, trainers help students feel welcome, find their place in the group and grow in independence.
*Families receive a health and medical form after registration to help us prepare for each student’s care and support needs.
Student supervision
SILC manages and supervises students throughout campus life, professional visits, outdoor adventures and social activities. Off-campus experiences remain part of SILC’s organised and supervised programme.
At night, SILC night watch provides residential supervision, while university campus security looks after site security. SILC retains responsibility for student care throughout their stay.
Personal leadership coaching
Through SILC’s leadership curriculum, personal projects, visits and adventures, our trainers help students set goals and practise communication, teamwork and decision-making. Individual coaching and reflection help them recognise their strengths and understand their contribution to a group.
Each student receives personalised feedback and an action plan to build on after the academy. A follow-up session two months later offers time to review progress and discuss next steps.
Communication with families
SILC is your point of contact before and throughout your child’s stay. From preparing for arrival and understanding the programme to answering questions during the academy, our team provides clear information and personal support.
