Geneva team and organisation
Your SILC Geneva Summer Academy team
Student care, supervision and daily organisation
SILC manages and supervises the full summer academy, coordinating residential life, meals, transport, professional visits and activities. Webster University Geneva provides the campus setting and delivers the academic sessions, with our teams working closely together.
For families, SILC is the main point of contact. For students, our team offers daily guidance and support, helping them settle in, build confidence and grow in independence within a clearly organised programme.
Experienced SILC trainers
Our trainers bring experience from SILC’s school programmes and summer camps, helping young people develop leadership, teamwork and confidence through practical learning. Their work continues beyond the summer, so they understand how to turn an activity into a learning experience and adapt their support to different students.
Smaller camp sizes allows the trainers to get to know each student, support their personal goals and guide their participation in the programme.
Qualified instructors
Qualified activity instructors lead specialist activities such as rock climbing and water-based adventures, with SILC staff present alongside them.
The instructors guide the technical activity, while SILC trainers help students apply the leadership skills they are developing, support the group and connect the experience with their personal goals.
Health and wellbeing
SILC trainers are first aid certified and hold child safeguarding qualifications. They are students’ first point of contact if they feel unwell or need support, providing first aid and coordinating further medical assistance when needed.
Through daily guidance, encouragement and clear expectations, our team helps students settle in, feel included and build independence.
*After registration, families receive a health and medical form to share information that helps us plan for their child’s care and support.
Student supervision
The entire programme is supervised and managed by SILC, both on campus and during visits, excursions and outdoor activities. Our team guides students through the day and provides support during residential and social time.
At night, SILC night watch provides overnight supervision. University campus security supports the security of the site, while student care and programme supervision remain under SILC’s responsibility.
Personal leadership coaching
Our trainers deliver the SILC leadership curriculum and guide students through their personal projects, helping them set goals and develop their ideas. During visits and outdoor activities, they coach students in applying leadership skills, then use reflection and individual feedback to connect the experience with their development.
This personalised approach contributes to each student’s feedback document and personal action plan, so the learning has a practical direction beyond the two-week summer school.
Communication with families
SILC is your point of contact before and during the academy. From preparing for arrival to answering questions throughout your child’s stay, our team provides clear information and personal support, so you know who to turn to whenever you need us.
