A Day in the Life at SILC’s Creative Summer Camp France

When parents imagine sending their children to a summer camp in the South of France, one of the first questions is: What does a typical day actually look like?

Unlike many camps in the region that focus purely on language learning, SILC Academy offers something different – an English-speaking summer camp dedicated to Creativity and Entrepreneurship. Across two action-packed weeks, campers combine outdoor adventures with hands-on creative workshops and cultural discovery.

Here’s what a day looks like at our creative summer camp in France:

Rock Climbing in the Countryside

The day begins around 7:30am, when our camp trainers do wake-up calls to get everyone ready for breakfast. Soon after, the adventure starts. Today’s activity? Rock climbing with professional guides at a spectacular local site.

After learning essential safety rules and climbing techniques, students tackle routes suited to their abilities. Beyond the physical challenge, rock climbing encourages teamwork, resilience, and communication skills, which are all vital qualities that tie into the camp’s entrepreneurial spirit.

Lunch Time

Following the morning adventure, everyone returns to campus for a relaxed, nutritious lunch. Mealtimes at SILC are about more than just food – they are a chance to bond, share stories, and recharge for the creative workshops ahead.

Photography & Filmmaking Workshop

The afternoon brings a deep dive into the world of visual storytelling. Campers take part in engaging photography and filmmaking workshops, where they learn about camera movement, framing, focus, light and shadow, and the rule of thirds.

These sessions not only teach technical skills but also help students express their ideas, collaborate on projects, and build confidence in presenting their work – echoing the entrepreneurial mindset at the heart of the SILC experience.

Leisure Time & Discover Grasse Excursion

After some well-deserved leisure time on campus, the evening is dedicated to exploring the charm of the South of France. On this day, students head into the historic town of Grasse, famous worldwide as the perfume capital. With cameras in hand, they practise their photography and filmmaking skills while strolling through winding streets, picturesque squares, and stunning landscapes.

Why Parents Choose SILC’s Creative Summer Camp

At SILC, we believe that a truly valuable camp experience goes beyond having a busy schedule and a large group of campers. That’s why we maintain small camp sizes to ensure that every student gets the individual attention, guidance, and encouragement they deserve.

Our highly qualified trainers bring expertise not only in their fields, from entrepreneurship to the creative arts – but also in mentoring young people. They create a safe, supportive environment where students are challenged to step outside their comfort zones and try new things, knowing they have the guidance they need to succeed.
